About Us / History of FP108SJ

The Woman's Club Building (108 S. Jackson St) formally opened on May 7, 1928. In addition to being the permanent home of the Art League's Collection of fine art, the building serves as an attractive and convenient meeting place for a number of local clubs and organizations. The building continues to be used for artistic, literary, musical, historic and educational programs. The Foundation for the Preservation of 108 S. Jackson (FP108SJ) was established in 1997 to preserve and maintain this beautiful, historic building. The Foundation board is made up of members from the Woman's Club Association, Art League, MacDowell Music Club, AAUW, and DAR-Janesville Chapter.
